It was in a very popular street for youth to go shopping and I really liked that. There’s great vintage/thrift stores that I recommend checking out. There were a lot of food options nearby. The hotel room was very clean and spacious plus also nicely decorated. Breakfast was super tasty! Lastly, the staff was very kind and cute. They spoke english well, not a must but definitely appreciated!

Lamp Light Books Hotel in Fukuoka was beyond my expectations. I arrived in the late morning (around 11:00am) and relaxed in the hotel lobby until check-in. The hotel lobby provided such a calm and relaxing atmosphere, with a cafe at the heart of it. I would often end my nights with an iced matcha to take to my room and even spent an evening in the hotel, relaxing before dinner (you even get a discount on cafe items if you are staying at the hotel). The hotel's location is a 10 minute walk away from the subway station which takes you to Hakata. There are lots of shopping, dining and cafes located nearby - a soft-serve store was just across the street, it was a nice treat to enjoy upstairs.

1/3rd bookstore, 1/3 cafe, 1/3 hotel. The concept alone is cozy and relaxing, and the actual experience lives up to that. The staff are incredibly kind and the atmosphere is calming. It was raining during a good portion of time I was in Fukuoka and there was nothing better than coming back to this hotel in the rain, ordering a matcha latte and relaxing in the lobby with a good book and music softly playing in the background.

Love this little hotel, what a gem! Located right in Daimyo, a hip neighbourhood in Fukuoka - loads of clothing shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. Downstairs lobby doubles as a 24/7 cafe and coworking space - so cute! Staff were all insanely lovely and helpful. Laundry machine downstairs was super convenient also! As for the room itself, although it looked small the bed is MASSIVE and so so comfortable! We were able to fit our 2 large suitcases fine. Bathroom was really nice with the bathtub and shower are modern and separated in a wet room. Will definitely be staying here again!

The hotel lobby is a 24 hour cafe with attentive staff and amazing popularity with locals that are not hotel guests. This is actually very positive, because the constant presence of customers creates an environment that feels super safe and lively. The hotel rooms are typical for Japan, small but with everything one needs, practical, efficient and clean. It has a coin operated laundry facility, which we did use and was super convenient. What we liked the most was the location. At first glance in seems a bit out of "the action" of the more commercial streets, but in fact, this is what turned out to be most appealing. It blends with the neighborhood, which is very safe and clean, with the typical Japanese mixed use type of setting with many small shops, restaurants and bars intermixed with the residential buildings. It was great to feel like it was OUR neighborhood that made us feel very welcome.

The location was great, surrounded by edgy shops but not too noisy at night. The hotel was nicely designed and the 24hr coffee shop downstairs seemed good, and quite popular. We were able to borrow an iron from the reception, which was great. Soundproofing was great and we didn't hear other guests during our stay. We had a room on the top floor with a balcony, which was fantastic.

The location is absolutely perfect - you're right in the middle of all the best vintage shops, coffee joints, and great food that Fukuoka has to offer. The entrance is super cute, too, and it's really nice to have a decent cafe just downstairs in your hotel. Pajamas are provided as well, and there's a lovely little sitting area in some rooms. I loved being able to borrow books, and the hotel very kindly shipped our luggage to our next destination with no fuss!

Location is good. Not far from Hakata station, and very interesting street where it's located. A bit of drag if you're carrying heavy suitcases though. Breakfast is well-made, just a bit limited since there's no buffet and you choose from a small set of meals, which is not 100% á la carte. However, the café area is extremely calm and quiet, and you can take the books to your room and return them later. Good coffee, good beer, tranquil atmosphere, cute room, comfortable bathroom with spacious shower.

The hotel is super cute and the lobby is at the far end of the book cafe. The staff is busy, attentive, and helpful. The rooms are small and well-designed, very comfortable and yes, made for reading in bed! I appreciated the bathroom setup with the tub and shower in one tiled room and the sink and toilet in the midway, closet-like area. Definitely note that the rooms are small and there's not really any good place to put your suitcase, at least not in our room with a balcony. So we stayed neat and kept our suitcases zipped up. Breakfast is your choice of a fancy filled croissant and a beverage. The snacks at the book cafe are really nice and are the perfect pick-me-up. I loved that guests could take breakfast and food treats up to the room and there were stands for leaving your food trays by the elevator on each floor. Lamplight Books is a few blocks from the metro but depending on the time of day, it's a crowded walk.

Location: - About 10minutes walk from nearest train station - Lots of famous restaurants (try 黑田家) and bars (try Bar Oscar! And Yorozu!) nearby - Lots of trendy shops just round the corner too! Room: - Spacious room for solo traveller (compared to other japanese hotels) - Bathroom with shower AND bathtub, amazing! Possible drawbacks: - Room may be a little small for two person - No working desk in room, but the cafe area downstairs opens 24 hours! With socket and free wifi! This chain is always a good choice when travelling to Japan 👍🏼
